Crossing LakeTodos Los Santos to Peulla, Chile
The first rainy overcast day of the trip provided our first real taste of winter in the lake district. After leaving Puerta Varas, we stopped to see Petrohue Falls with their powerful force resulting from the combination of rain and glacial/snow melt. We then boarded our boat for the first lake crossing of Todos Los Santos (All the Saints). The two hour cruise among the lush snow-capped Andes provided a relaxing morning before arriving in picturesque Peulla for a fun afternoon of zip-line canopying in the surrounding rain forest. We were all decked out in helmets, gloves, belts and hooks for hanging on the cables for awesome slides and repelling through the lush forest. We zipped down eight different cables of varying lengths-the longer ones were our favorites! Our Chilean guides were a blast and provided good orientation for another thrilling first! We will post photos of our zip-line canopying later tonight. We each have a one hour massage late this afternoon to get our bodies losened up for skiing in Bariloche after all the hiking in Patagonia! The Hotel Natura is a gem and the meals are stupendous. We are sure enjoying the Chilean cuisine! The fish choices are incredible. Tommorow we start on beef in Argentina. Moo later!
